The iconic previous generation of Swedish krona banknotes before the 2015 reform. Celebrated for its artistic depth, this series features prominent Swedish historical, scientific, and literary figures, most notably Selma Lagerlöf on the 20 kronor note alongside illustrations from "The Wonderful Adventures of Nils".

The current generation of Swedish krona banknotes introduced by Sveriges Riksbank in 2015-2016. Moving away from traditional historical monarchs, this modern series celebrate 20th-century cultural icons—such as Astrid Lindgren and Ingmar Bergman—paired with distinct geographical motifs of Sweden and advanced security features like color-shifting images.

Launched in 2016, this series modernized Sweden's currency by introducing smaller, nickel-free coins. Featuring King Carl XVI Gustaf, it marks the return of the 2 Kronor and utilizes sustainable materials like copper-plated steel.
